Maria "Lala" Eulalia Esquibel
April 19th, 1942 - February 21st, 2018
Maria (Lala) Eulalia Esquibel went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2018 in Denver. She was born on April 19, 1942 to Maximinio and Carmelita (Medina) Marquez in La Jara, Colorado and grew up in Los Sauces, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Maximinio Marquez Jr.; nephews Mark and Marty Marquez; and numerous family members. She is survived by her husband Antonio Esquibel Sr.; sons Antonio (Louise) Esquibel Jr. and Toms Esquibel; grandchildren Reyna, Bianca, and Zia Esquibel; and numerous family and friends. She was a member of Las Lydias at All Saints Catholic Church. She loved gambling in Black Hawk, spending time with her three granddaughters, relatives and friends and loved baking. She was famous for her Biscochitos. Her family described her as a loving mother and grandmother, a caring woman, a jokester, savvy with social media, and had a great memory, especially with dates and special events. She had a lot of pride regarding her family, culture, heritage, and history. Most of all, she made every family member and friends feel extra special. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Burial in La Sauses, CO on Saturday March 3, 2018 Funeral procession at 10am from Romero's Mortuary to cemetery 1407 State Avenue, Alamosa, CO TBD, will update soon in next few days Reception at Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in La Jara, CO after burial.
