David William Hirsch

David William Hirsch July 13, 1940 - January 22, 2023 David "Papa" Hirsch, age 82 of Aurora, Colorado, has gone to be with his Savior. He peacefully left this earth on January 22, 2023, as he was surrounded by family. David was born on July 13, 1940, in Fairbury, Nebraska. He grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. David proudly served in the Navy from 1958 to 1962. While in the Navy he received two nicknames. Being from Wyoming, he was called "Sheepherder", and "Crazylegs Hirsch" after the football player, Elroy "Crazylegs" Hirsch. After the Navy, he went to college and graduated from University of Northern Colorado. David is survived by his wife Lee Ann Hirsch, daughter Lisa (Tim) Ridley, son Aaron (Renee) Hirsch, daughter Andrea Hirsch, son Joel (Jaclyn) Hirsch, son Mark (Julie) Hirsch, daughter Sherri (Shaun) Haynes, 18 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, brother Roger (Mary Ann) Hirsch, and sister Beverly (Douglas) Morrow, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Grace Hirsch, and his brother Richard Hirsch. David was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved watching football, especially the Wyoming cowboys. He loved driving the plains and mountains of Colorado. David also had a rememberable sense of humor that will be missed by all. His children and grandchildren have many "Davisms" that will carry on. He loved his family, and he will be dearly missed. "Ahh nuts, dad!" One of Dave's favorite passages of Scripture that described his life so well, "aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing." 1Thessalonians 4:11-12 A Memorial Service will be held at Fellowship Community Church, 6263 S. Parker Rd, Centennial, CO 80016, on Saturday, February 4th from 11am-noon, followed by a reception.
