August 31st, 1945 - December 29th, 2011
Jose Gilbert DeHerrera. Born August 31st. 1945 in Center, Colorado to Daniel and Eloisa DeHerrera. Jose had 5 sisters; Helen, Josie, Sally, Marian and Rosie. Jose had 1 brother; Louie DeHerrera. He Married Dorothy Lorraine Garcia and together had 5 children; Gilbert, Rosemary, Daniel (Deceased), Loryann and Stephanie. Jose loved fishing and being outdoors. He was a real people person. He lived in Denver where he was very well known and liked. He loved meeting new people and making new friends. Jose also served in the U.S. Army; he was stationed at Fort Ord, California; from which he was Honorably Discharged. Jose battled a long time with liver problems and also struggled with cancer. His struggle finally ended at Denver Hospice where he took his last breath surrounded by family and friends. He went home to be with Lord on December 29th. 2011, he was 66 years old. Jose will be missed and loved by all who knew him. Services are pending.
