Eddie A Quintana
April 16th, 1938 - December 21st, 2020
Eddie "Ed" A. Quintana was born on April 16, 1938 in Solar, Colorado to Tina Pacheco Mestas and was raised in Walsenburg by Tina and her husband Solomon Mestas. He graduated from Huerfano County High School in 1957. Around that time he joined the US Army Reserve, serving for 8 years and attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. After marrying his true love Sandra (Sandy) Zanon Quintana in 1962, they moved to Denver to raise their family. In the late 60's and early 70's, Ed worked as a C-cottage counselor at the Lookout Mountain School for Boys. In 1971 he went to work for Coors Brewing Company where he retired as the supervisor of the mold shop at Coors Glass. While at Coors Glass, Ed studied at Regis University, earning a degree in Business. Ed enjoyed watching Broncos football, cooking-especially his famous green chili and posole, serving on the Finance Council at his parish, Montbello Catholic Church of the Ascension, and "bumming" around with Sandy. Everyone will miss his colorful stories, many jokes and friendly, charming banter. In the early morning of December 21, 2020, Ed died peacefully at his son Jon's home, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandy (2018), his parents Tina and Soloman Mestas, his sister Eileen Vigil and numerous other dear relatives and friends, each of whom Ed spoke of often and wanted so desperately to reunite with in his heavenly home. Ed is survived by his sons Jon (Rita) and Jim (Magdalena) Quintana and daughter Debbie (Chris) Wise, grandchildren Nathan (Lauren), Ryan, Dan, Sam and Allison Quintana, Erin (Mario Chiarani), Kayla and RJ Nelson, great grandsons Heath Chiarani and Jack Quintana, brother John Leroy (Alice) Martinez, sisters Priscilla Cruz and Shirley (John) Garcia, step-sister Vicky Padilla, half-sister Valerina Quintana, Aunt Sara Guzman and an abundance of other deeply loved relatives and friends.
