Genie (Gene) B. Romero Entered into this World April 16, 1945 Entered into the House of the Lord - March 24, 2016 Gene is survived by his wife Edna (Tafoya) Romero of nearly 51 years, Daughter Julie (Lou) DeNiro, Son Mark (Tiffany) Romero, Grandchildren - Christopher, Dallas Ann, Dominic, Great Granddaughter - Ava, Brothers: Leo (Dorothy), Al (Vangie), Sisters - Theresa (Tom) Gallegos, Gloria (Don) Salazar, Aunt Doris Espinosa, Nino to Esperanza Tafoya, Carlos Martinez, Darlene Romero, Daniel Tafoya and so many more, beloved Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Parents, Celestino and Matilde Romero, Brothers, Kenneth and Michael and Sister Vernice. Gene met the Love of his life, Edna, when they were just young kids growing up in Del Norte, Colorado, running around the West. They were married June 12, 1965, and immediately moved to Denver to begin their new journey. Once in Denver, he began working as a Chef and to this day would tell everyone how to cook. For 24 years he worked at the Electron Foundry and for 19 years after was a Welder/Mechanic Miner at the Henderson Mine. Gene loved everything about the outdoors, fishing and hunting most of all. When not in the outdoors, he would talk Edna into eating at Sunrise Sunset for breakfast and heading up the "Hill" and we can't forget he was a VIP Platinum Member at Starbucks. Gene passed Mercifully with his family at his side. Everyone is invited to return to St. Jude Parish Hall for the Reception following the interment at Mt. Olivet. Romero Family Funeral Home 1805 S.
