Memorial

Marie Rosina Loretta Sandoval went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on July 3, 1956 to Albert and Ninfa (Laraaga) Montoya. She is preceded in death by her parents listed above; and grandson Josiah Lozado. She is survived by her husband of 41 years John Dwight Sandoval; children Angell Prez, Richard (Melinda) Ramirez, Francisca (Anthony) Sandoval-Nevarrez, Charlotte Sandoval, and Jessica (Fernando) Sandoval-Marquez; siblings Mary Catherine Grissom, Albert (Joanna) Montoya Jr., Anthony (Vangie) Montoya Sr., Marian (Wayne) Montoya-Beyer, Diana (JP) Davis; 15 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Rosina, as she was called by her loved ones, was very proud of her New Mexican roots and grew up in the Princess Jeanne neighborhood of Albuquerque. As a child she loved to play outside, ride her bike with her siblings and pile into the car to go on adventures with her family. When Rosina was 13, the family moved to Denver where she attended York Junior High and Highland High School in Thornton. When Rosina was 16, her first daughter Angell was born, then four years later her son Richard. In 1978 she met the love of her life John, and their first daughter Francesca was born, followed by two more daughters, Charlotte and Jessica to complete their family. Rosina loved bowling, cooking, playing pool, dancing and listening to music. In her younger years she loved the sounds of Motown and disco but soon her love of gospel and Christian music took over her heart. She was once a champion kick boxer after being trained by her older brother and coaches Albert Jr. and sister-in-law Joanna. In 1987, Rosina met Pastor Ray Chavez and this would change the course of her life forever as she welcomed Jesus into her heart as her Lord and Savior. Rosina then moved to San Bernardino to attend the Victory Outreach Women's Home while John moved to Albuquerque to attend the Victory Outreach Men's Home. They would both say this was the beginning of a life of joy, happiness and servitude with their Lord Jesus at the center of all they did, how they loved each other and raised their family. Rosina and John moved back to Denver joining Victory Outreach Denver and spending time at New Hope Ministries. In 1996, her and her husband John began Pastoring their own ministry at Victory Outreach Greater Denver. She dedicated her life's work to leading as a woman of God and opening both a Women's Home and a Men's Home in Denver to carry on the tradition of healing other's through Christ as she experienced in San Bernardino. As a spiritual sister, mother and Pastor's wife she impacted 1000's of people through her work at Victory Outreach locally, nationally and internationally. Rosina cultivated a rich sisterhood with many women leaders and mentored many others into leadership within the ministry. She was bold and strong, yet compassionate and nurturing. Her purpose and passion in life was to mentor those who were broken and felt alone by making them feel worthy, sacred, and helping them find hope again. Her family describe her as very loving, caring, mothering, silly, and a classy woman of God. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Everyone is encouraged to wear the colors pink, white, and maroon the day of her service.
