EllaMae Roybal (Benavidez) age 68, passed away at home surrounded by her family on October 29, 2022 from pancreatic cancer. She is survived by a beautiful family; husband Ruben O. Roybal Jr of 42 years; children Tony Roybal, Juan Carlos Benavidez, Juan Esteban Roybal, Raquel Roybal (Derek); her grandchildren Jonathan, Diego, Olivia, Dakota, Emily and Daniel. Siblings; Anna Benavidez, Frank Benavidez (Ronda), Debbie Figueroa, Raedene Guerrero, Brenda Benavidez, Laura Benavidez, Daniella Benavidez (Mario); in laws Ray Roybal (Virgie), Amos Roybal (Yvonne), Robert Roybal (Bernadine) Elizabeth Bustos, Sylvia Sanchez (Tom), Ricky Roybal (Carmen) Joseph Roybal, Cathy Roybal, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Emilia Benavidez, brother Floyd Benavidez, niece Athena Ata'ata Cruz, nephews Cristobal Benavidez, Sebastian Benavidez, Martin Benavidez, Emiliano Silva, Danny Ray Roybal, Lenny Taylor; in laws Ruben T. Roybal Sr and Ada Roybal, William Bustos, Maria Del Carmen Benavidez, Edward Figueroa. EllaMae was born in Romeo, Colorado. Grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. Graduated from West High School and attended the University of Utah. She raised her family in Denver, Colorado, where she became a dedicated Denver Broncos fan. Retired from Dex Media West. Worked for the YMCA and volunteered at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She lived a life well spent. She enjoyed deep conversations, getting to know new people, dances, concerts, traveling, crocheting, playing scrabble, puzzling, movies and playing cards. Taking care of her grandchildren and honorary grandchildren. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. EllaMae has taken her leave from this world to be our angel in heaven. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity, humor, beauty, class, kindness, humility, charity, a radiant smile that will never be forgotten, loved by many and a gentle sweetness this world could use more of.
