Maria Audesia Gallegos Sr.

Maria Audesia Baca Gallegos Sunrise: October 24, 1926, Trinidad, Colorado Sunset: April 23, 2023, at home with family at her side. Preceded into heaven by her Husband Rev. Manuel Gallegos; Mother, Celia Duran; Daughter, Ria Gallegos; Grandson, Daniel G. Gallegos, jr. Married Reverend Manuel Gallegos, December 4, 1947. She recently saw a picture of when they were young before married, she commented, "He picked me". Proud mother of four children: Richard (Mary Jane), Ronald (Jeanne), Daniel and Ria Gallegos; 10 Grandchildren and 12 Great-grandchildren. She worked as Denver Public Schools, Wyatt Elementary for many years. All her children attended there. Also the Denver Election Voting Commission, Globeville Recreation and Walmart for many years. She didn't want to retire but her family thought it was best. She enjoyed working there and would go back and visit friends. We were blessed with our Queen "96 years", a loving, lovely lady. Powerful and Strong Willed, she would never complain or ask for help. On her 96th birthday, she said add four more and it will be 100, she made a wish, "I wish I could be here a lot longer with you guys", and she blew out her candles. She would start off each morning brewing her coffee and either work in her word finding book or get on the laptop and play solitaire card games. She loved music and going with family to concerts in the park and family celebrations where she would sit on her walker and we would dance with her. She loved " The Counterpoint Band" and " The Mighty Nice Band". She would listen to the Radio on Sundays, Cancion Mexicano with Ria and loved to request Birthday Wishes. Our hearts are filled with love and appreciation to everyone here celebrating the life of our Matriarch, Our Rock, The Queen of Our Hearts.
