Michael Daniel Vickers was born on May 18, 1989 in Denver, Colorado. He was raised by Auntie Sharon K. Hall. He passed away from this life unexpectedly on April 23, 2023 of an enlarged heart and hypertension. In high school, Michael was a track and field athlete and won multiple awards. He also competed in cross-country. He received his GED in 2006 and his Certified Nurse's Aide CNA certificate in 2010. Moreover, he is only 5 classes away from obtaining his Associate of General Studies at Arapahoe Community College. Prior to his passing, he was a Specialty Pharmacy Patient Representative at United Health Care-OptumRx. His supervisor expressed that he has been one of his best employees. He worked as a CNA/Unit Secretary at Porter Adventist Hospital and Centura Flex Team for nearly 11 years (2012-2023). He was a frontline staff throughout the COVID pandemic. During his first year at Porter- he received the "CNA of the Year" award. He excelled in every job he ever had and was loved by so many people - from his coworkers, supervisors, patients, their families and caregivers. He liked riding motorcycles, doing karaoke with friends and listening to music- specifically rap and RNB. He was also a great cook- he made the best steaks and Filipino soup "Bulalo." He was very proud of their first house- doing landscaping their front and backyard, planting flowers which is relaxing/calming for him. Additionally, he is a very social, friendly person. He had an infectious smile and personality- always the life of the party. Michael was humorous, kind, generous, selfless and neighborly. He would always mow or plow the neighbor's side of the lawn without asking for anything in return. He is always willing to help in any way he can. He loved traveling the country with Francis and their dogs with their pop-up camper. Recently they have been watching movies in the movie theater every Friday to decompress and walked the dogs nightly. As a couple, they enjoyed traveling the world. Michael is survived by his partner/spouse of 15 years, Francis, their 2 dogs Hiro and Chanel and their fishes/cichlids. His Salcedo family: His "Mom" Victoria/Vicky, brothers-in-law Darson, Bernard, Alex, Lester, Troy and sister-in-law Jojie. His sisters- Patty, Nikki, Simon and Sharon. His nieces and nephews- Tyler, Dawson, Bryce, Noah, JT, Sondra, Sammy, Nina. He also has an 18 y/o nephew Mikey and 2 biological sisters, Ashley and Ronni. His Auntie Millie, older cousins Amber and Wendy. Lastly, by his closest friends, Cheree, Jad, Rebecca and Brittany. Although he struggled with alcohol problems throughout his life, he turned his life around. He completed online programs, an in-person inpatient program, continued attending AA meetings. Moreover, he was consistent in his therapy appointments and recovery coaching meetings. He also started going to church weekly and started spending time with his Salcedo family on the weekends consistently. Michael has also been verbalizing job fulfillment and satisfaction and overall happiness recently. He has been sobered for nearly a year. Michael touched so many lives throughout his life. He is adored and loved by so many people. He is a sweet, caring soul. Most importantly, he is loved by God: he left our world, our universe as a Christian.
