April 21,2020 Guadalupe Watkins (Lupe) passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020. Lupe was born in Mt. Harris, Colorado on March 7, 1940 to Antonio and Maria Porras Trejo. She was married to Richard Watkins for well over 60 years at his passing in June 2014. Lupe worked for the City and County of Denver "Denver General" as a Surgical Nurse and retired "Employee of the Year" with over 30 years of service. Lupe graduated from Annunciation High and continued her education at Emily Griffith Vocational School completing her Nursing Degree, entering employment with Denver General in 1961. Her two sons survive her, Sean Watkins, Richard (Butch) Watkins, and daughter Dawn Barr; Grandchildren: (Sean) Naja Amara Watkins, David and Daniel Watkins, Nahjea Thomas; (Butch) Vincent Watkins, Tiffany Watkins, Thorne Watkins, Brandon Wallace. Siblings: Maria Trejo-Nagel, Jesse and (Corey) Trejo, Albert and (Marianne) Trejo, Mario Trejo, Catherine Trejo; Yolanda Trejo, Rebecca Trejo; Albert and Betty Watkins. There are many more nephews, nieces and cousins. She was brilliant and witty, helping people from all walks of life with her knowledge of medicine; she was everyone's personal family doctor. Lupe was independent and a loving wife who was full of spunk an attribute that her family and closest friends will greatly miss most about her. Services for Lupe will be announced at a later date, we will keep everyone updated as to the place and time of memorial services. Please keep family updated with current contact information.
