Mary Jane Romero
September 5th, 1955 - May 1st, 2020
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Mary Jane Romero, she went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2020. She was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on September 05, 1955 to Augustine Romero and Ramoncita Lara. She is preceded in death by her father Augustine Romero, mother Ramoncita Lara, brother Abel Martinez, and sister Gloria Romero. She is survived by her children Donna Jaramillo, Chris Romero, Angelica and Matthew Archuleta, and Monica and Ian Abila, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and siblings Vera Deherrera, Theresa Romero, and Tina Romero. Mary will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Mary was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched. Spending time with family for birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings was what she enjoyed most. You could find her sitting comfortably in a chair with her Diet Pepsi in hand, enjoying the nice weather and conversations around her. When the chaos calmed, you could find her snuggled on her couch watching a Lifetime movie and playing Candy Crush (which by the way she was "crushing" on level 5,313). Mary was a collector of many things like Angels, windchimes, and various knick-knacks. She loved all things blue; roses, butterflies, flowers, and cars. Mary was a great cook, her family loved her green chile, menudo, and her amazing cakes. Every Christmas, she made tamales and her special holiday cookies and she generously shared them with family, friends, and neighbors. Mary loved to laugh, her beautiful smile was contagious. She was the center of all jokes and pranks, she would easily believe anything her family told her and would always walk away with a good laugh. She was compassionate and cared deeply for others. Mary has always been a hard worker, both personally and professionally, she was dedicated to her workplace for 19 years. She was honest, and always said what was on her mind. She was strong, independent and always made sure her family was cared for. Mary was the matriarch of her family and raised, not only her own children, but helped raise her grandchildren as well. Watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren grow up is what mattered most to her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
