Pauline T. Gastelum
April 2nd, 1929 - August 13th, 2021
Pauline T. Gastelum, 92 years, was called to her heavenly home on August 13th, 2021. Born April 2nd, 1929 to Mariano U. and Arcadia G Tapia, she was raised in the Old Pascua Village in Tucson Arizona. Her family was one of the original Yaqui families to settle in the Old Pascua Village. As a young girl she loved to play baseball, and as a young adult she was a licensed beautician and she learned how to crochet and made blankets, pillows, hats, really anything and everything she made was beautiful. She later moved to California and started working at Loma Linda University Medical Center for many years. After retirement she moved back to Arizona to be closer to all her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Felipe, Mariano, Secundino, and Guadalupe (Joe) sisters Maria Tapia, Marcelina Flores, son-in law Richard Dush, and grandson Jeremiah P Dush. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Dush sons Daniel Gastelum (Letty) Phillip T. (Irma) Gastelum sister Lorenza Kopacz Seven grandchildren Rick (Michelle) Dush, Bianca (Bryan) Munger, Daniel Gastelum II, Phillip Gastelum, Steven Gastelum, Elizabeth (Jesse) McKenzie, and Joseph Gastelum. Eight great-grandchildren Schyler Dush, Jeremiah Dush, Kannon Dush, Ricky Munger, Ashton Munger, David McKenzie, Vivi Gastelum and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving Mother, Nana and Big Nana to all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren she doted on and adored all of them always making them feel loved and special. Family was everything to her and she kept a special spot in her heart for everyone. She kept her faith and love in God her whole life. Philippians 1:21 “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” Thessalonians 4:14 “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him” Now she lives in a perfect spiritual world. Rest and give our love to all of those we miss, we truly believe we will see and hold each other once again. Mom, Sister, Tia, Nana, Big Nana you will forever be in our hearts. We will miss you dearly. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00pm – 4:00pm on Friday September 3rd, 2021 at the Rose Chapel Funeral Home. 1130 S. Horne, Mesa Az 85204 (480) 833-1716.
