We celebrate a life well lived, and mourn the loss of Mary Louise Drenner Clark. Mary lost her battle to cancer on Monday February 4, 2019 in Chandler Arizona where she had resided for the past 20 years. Mary was born on April 16, 1951 in Baltimore Maryland to Herbert Louis Drenner and Mary Louise Chapin Drenner. Mary is preceeded in death by her father, her mother, and her brother Kenneth Paul Drenner. She is survived by her daughter Allison (Chris) Ziegler of Corpus Christi Texas, her son Mathew Clark of Tucson Arizona, her sister Anne Cebula of Chandler Arizona, her brother Herbert Louis Drenner Jr. (Brenda) of Crossville Alabama, her aunt and Godmother Katherine Drenner of Arbutus Maryland, her granddaughters Ashley Ziegler, Madilyn Ziegler, and Autumn Ziegler, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mary was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grammy, and friend. She was vibrant, quirky, creative, and talented. Her passions included cooking, interior design, and gardening…which she shared enthusiastically with everyone around her. Mary was often found cooking for her family or a neighbor, giving gardening advice to a stranger in the home improvement store, or helping a friend with a room makeover. Mary was also an amazing neighbor and friend. As she was raising her kids in Vienna Virginia, her home was often full of kids from all over the neighborhood who were always welcomed in to play, have a snack, or talk if they needed. Mary was also a listener and confidant to those who called her friend, often spending hours “solving the problems of the world” over a cup of tea or a glass of wine. When asked, Mary would say she lived a full life, with good friends, and good family. Mary positively impacted the lives of all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed. A private family memorial will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Mary’s name to the ACLU, Doctors Without Borders, or Hospice of the Valley…all organizations close to Mary’s heart.
