Barbara Johnson
December 13th, 1938 - July 18th, 2020
Chandler, Arizona Barbara A. Johnson (nee: Hutton) passed away at her home in Chandler, Arizona on July 18 following a lengthy illness. Born Amherst, December 13, 1938, Barb graduated from Amherst Highschool. Following graduation, she continued her education as an x-ray technician. Throughout the years, she worked in various hospital and office facilities until retirement. She left the field from 1966 to 1985 to be home for the children. Barb loved to sew, making most of her children’s Halloween costumes and clothing. She loved crafting. Most of all, she loved being a homemaker, mom and grandmother. She and Charles frequently entertained extended family members at their home. She is survived by her husband Charles age 78. Daughter, LeeAnne Rambeau of Orlando, Florida, son Kenneth and his wife Ann of Show Lo Arizona. Grandchildren, Quinn, Josie, Samantha and Lily. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Violet Hutton, and brother Dennis Hutton in 2015. She was all around a good wife and mother. Her dedication to the children and grand children was exceptional. She proved she would put her life on the line for them. Even being very ill, she was concerned about others well-being to the last days. Friends stayed close to her for years. Barbara and Charlie had significant common interests of which collecting antiques and being in nature were central themes. Love of nature led to the purchase of a working ranch in New Mexico where many days of pleasure were known. Barb’s life was extended and enjoyed 5 years due to the medical management and surgery done by Dr. David Sugarbaker of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. The family asks that donations be sent to www.aats.org/BarbaraJohnson which leads to Doc Sugarbaker’s AAT site. Bypass everything down to tribute donation and check that box. Easy to understand from that point.
