William David Hennessy
April 21st, 1930 - July 12th, 2019
William David Hennessy, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 12, 2019 at his home in Mesa with his children at his side. William (Bill) was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 21 1930 to James and Ann (Sampson) Hennessy. He is survived by his daughters Veronica and Victoria, his son William, daughter-in-law Michelle, sister-in-law Eileen and his seven nieces and nephews. He worked for Employer’s Group Insurance Company until he joined the United States Army during the Korean War and later spent 21 years with the New York City Police department. After his retirement, he moved to Mesa Arizona. Bill loved to work on cars and prided himself a Craftsman, being able to take care of all his home and car repairs. He enjoyed watching football and collected miniature cars from the earliest cars to modern. Bill also had a collection of memorabilia of the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Mesa with the burial to follow at the VA Cemetery in Phoenix.
