Pauline Ann Arlene Scharberg Baumann

Pauline Ann Arlene Scharberg Baumann Pauline Baumann 88, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on January 24th, 2022 after a long illness. Pauline was born on December 10, 1933 in Hayfield, MN, the youngest child of Norman and Mabel Scharberg. She grew up on the family farm in Vernon Township near Oslo, MN, while attending schools in Hayfield. She graduated from Hayfield High school in 1951. She went on to marry Darrell William (Bill) Baumann, also of Hayfield, at West St. Olaf Lutheran Church on December 20, 1952. Pauline and Bill moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1961. She worked many years for Marriott International in their food services department at Arizona State University. After her retirement, she traveled to many countries which include Norway and Sweden to visit her ancestral homes. She also visited Ireland, Guam, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, and did a Caribbean cruise for her 50th wedding anniversary. She took a RV trip around Alaska with her niece, Ruth Finbraaten, as the tour guide. When the children were small, Bill and Pauline would spend the summers with the kids camping while traveling back to visit their many family members still in the Minnesota area. Pauline is survived by her husband Bill, her two sisters, Yvonne Jondal of Lansing, MN, and Mary Finbraaten of Adams, MN, her daughter Susan Marie Baumann Grambley (Bruce) of Wellington, Ky, her sons Dr. James Daryl Baumann (Karen Corriveau) Mesa, Az, and Peter Norman Baumann (Trudi Marshall) Gilbert, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Mabel Scharberg and her older brother Robert. Pauline and Bill share 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Grambley Rychlik (Bryan) Marysville, Ohio, Nichole Christine Grambley Vance, Round Rock, TX, Lindsey Ann Grambley Redwine (Seth) Reading, Ohio, Captain Courtney Mae Grambley, Columbia, SC, and Madison Bree Baumann, Gilbert, Az. In addition to her children, she has 7 great grandchildren, Brad Rychlik, Josh Rychlik, Brynn Rychlik, Jackie Rychlik, Colter Vance, Riley Vance, and Sonora Mae Redwine. They also share one great-great Granddaughter, Aria Rose Rychlik. The family of Pauline would like to thank Hospice for the dedicated and loving care of their mother and wife.
