Warren Allen Taylor

Warren Allen Taylor died on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in Chandler, Arizona. He was born in Thomas, Oklahoma to Clifton and Adina Taylor on June 9, 1936. He married Patricia Becherer on February 15, 1964 at Grace Lutheran Church in Caldwell, Idaho and they were married for 27 years. Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Becherer) Taylor, his parents, his brothers Nelson and Robert. Warren is survived by his children Wayne (Jennifer), Stephanie Poulard (Mike), and Jason (Jennifer), his grandchildren Hannah Christensen, Ciarra Grobe, (Sebastian), Chris Poulard (Kali), Kathrynne Taylor, Paige Taylor, Danielle Taylor, and Elijah Taylor, as well as his best friend Henry Garcia. Warren was a veteran who served in Korea. He utilized the G.I. Bill to get his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho. He began his educational career in the Caldwell Public School system as a teacher. He would later go on to serve as Principal, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, and Director of Migrant Education for the state of Idaho. He received the Fulbright Scholar award in 1976 and traveled to India for three months. He was able to learn from the culture and met with Indira Gandhi. In 1984, Warren received the National Distinguished Principal of the United States award in Washington DC from President Ronald Reagan. Warren loved to serve his community through education. In his time as Director of Migrant Education for Idaho, he worked tirelessly to ensure that migrant children were given access to quality instruction. Warren and Sister Bernadette Stang, a nun from the Catholic church, were especially proud of the educational program at Farmway Village in Caldwell, Idaho. Warren loved the Lord and his family. After retiring, he spent much time volunteering in various community organizations. He enjoyed taking trips with his family and always being generous with his time and resources. A private ceremony will take place in Idaho at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please direct your memorials to your local library or literacy program.
