Cory Mitchell Wachendorf-Fasthorse
March 19th, 1978 - November 12th, 2023
Cory Mitchell Wachendorf-Fasthorse went to Heaven on Sunday November 12, 2023 at the age of 45. He was born to Kenneth Wachendorf-Starkey and Cynthia Hamer-Thomas on March 19, 1978. His recent battle with medical issues showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. An Arizona native, he was a resident of Casa Grande at the time of his passing. He spent his growing up years living in Gilbert, Chandler and Payson Az. Cory was so proud of His Native American Heritage, and was a tribal member of Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in South Dakota. After High School he worked as a Utility Locator most recently with Arizona State University, and he also worked doing side jobs in construction. He was always there to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. As a child he excelled in sports such as soccer. Soccer became his passion for 10 years and he never tired of it. He also loved to go fishing and hunting with his dad. He was blessed to have his cousin Ricky as a best friend, they were born a month apart, and they grew up together. They both had that weird sense of humor, and they both kept everyone entertained & laughing. They were very close and that bond has continued thru their entire life and will always remain. As an adult He loved listening to all kinds of music, working out, camping, hunting, cooking out and hanging out with his dogs Diesel & Naugie. Cory loved ASU Football & NFL Az Cardinals. He had an uncanny ability to find peace and happiness in being outdoors doing the simplest of activities. Some of his greatest accomplishments was being a husband to his wife Trina and a dad to 2 sons, Hunter & Brody. He was also blessed to be a stepdad to daughter Kayla, and sons Adrian and Damon. They would often spend time together scouting for treasures (gold), riding their 4 wheelers & motorcycles, driving R.C trucks, and going to the driving range. He also enjoyed coaching his son’s youth sports teams. Cory was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Wachendorf-Starkey, Stepson Damon Evans-Zepeda , Grandfather Howard Hamer, Uncle Scott Ackerman, Cousin Reynaldo Guerrero Jr, Great Grandparents Helena & Alfred Bedell, Grandmother Phoebe Fasthorse-Starkey, Aunt Stacy Wachendorf-Davis, Uncle Michael Wachendorf, Great Grandmother Dora Zitzman, Grandparents Donna & Thomas Wachendorf. Cory's ability to make people smile, sense of humor, and loving heart will be missed by so many. In his life Cory would never use the word goodbye, he was adamant in saying “ later”, so in closing I will say for him see you all later..... A Celebration of Life Service & Luncheon will be held February 10th, 2024 11:00am Compass Christian Church 1825 S Alma School Road, Chandler, Arizona 85286
