Bruce Alan Baum

Bruce Alan Baum, age 73, left us with wonderful memories after he passed on March 12, 2022 from pancreatic cancer. On April 11, 1948 Bruce Baum was born to William and Lois Baum in San Francisco, CA. He had a strong bond with his little brother, Kent Baum. Both parents and his brother preceded him in death. Bruce was a devoted husband married to the love of his life, Joyce for 42 years. He considered himself a lucky man to be surrounded by "all his girls" included his wife Joyce, daughters Jill O'Shea (Justin) and Heather Jarmin (Jeremiah) and his five granddaughters, Lillian (15), Suzanne (13), Ariella (10), Zipporah (8), and Davinah (5). After graduating college with his B.S. in business, Bruce enlisted in the Army as an officer. Bruce is an Army veteran and retired in 1991 as a Major after 20 years of service. He was acknowledged for his "total loyalty, support, and for being genuinely superb". In retirement he worked at Lenhart's Ace Hardware which was started by his father-in-law. Bruce enjoyed working at the store where his handy work was useful. He took pride in a job well done and especially enjoyed helping people and sharing his knowledge. In Bruce's free time he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family and attending the sporting events of his grandchildren. Bruce also enjoyed baseball, technology, photography, history, music and woodworking projects. Bruce had so many wonderful qualities but those who knew him best were most impressed by his commitment to the people he loved. He was strong and steady. He is already missed greatly.
