Walter Leroy Stewart

Walter L. Stewart of Mesa, Arizona, returned home to his Heavenly Father January 24, 2022. Walter was born in Chandler, Arizona, January 10, 1929, to his parents Virgil L. Stewart and Rosezella Stamper and was raised by his Mother Rosezella and Step-Father Abner Mather who he called "Pops". Walter attended public schools in Chandler, AZ and graduated from Mesa High School. He served in U.S Navy and, after his Discharge from the Navy, he worked as a Federal employee at Williams Air Force Base until his retirement. Walt was active with REACT Intl for many years, which he and his wife Lora were members of. He and his wife, Lora, were also active in VFW and American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, Lora E. Stewart. They were married to for over 70 years. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Cora Terry, and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Graveside Services for family and friends will be February 4, 2022, at 2:00 PM in Mesa Cemetery.
