Robert Douglas Woods

It is with great sadness that the Woods family announces the death of Robert (Rob) Douglas Woods, 58, of Mesa, Arizona. The Lord reached out his hand and escorted Robert home unexpectedly on December 12, 2021. He was born in Charlotte North Carolina to David and Nancy Goodnow Woods (preceded him in death). Rob graduated from Westwood High School in 1981, went into Kings Point, Merchant Marines (with Dennis DeConcini signing his nomination) and from there the University of Arizona with a double major in Accounting and MIS Management Information Systems. He worked for Ernst & Young, American Express, various mines, Wells Fargo and Motorola just to name a few. Rob had the opportunity to go the Jerusalem while working for Motorola. This trip is what led him to Jesus. He was baptized in the Lord in 1998. Above everything Rob loved Jesus. He was saddened that he couldn't be a pastor and was wanting to spread the word of Jesus to anyone he could. Rob is survived by his wife Lisa Woods; his daughters Eva and Angelica; stepsons Derek and Joshua Litzau; father David Woods; and 2 brothers Brad and John. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who loved him very much. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held at Redemption Church of Gilbert, February 5th, 2022, at 10:30 am.
