Barbara Lynn Rusher

Barbara Lynn Rusher was born on March 31, 1948 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She passed away on July 21, 2021. She married Dennis Rusher, who she knew since childhood, in 1969. Barbara received her Associates Degree in Fashion Merchandising that same year from Ellsworth Junior College in Iowa Falls IA. In 1975, she and Dennis moved to Tempe, AZ where she worked for department store W.T. Grants as a section manager before changing careers into banking. She did a variety of roles such as teller, bookkeeper, supervisor until she found her passion in commercial bank lending at National Bank of Arizona, where she retired from after 25 years of service. Barbara was no stranger to anyone, always striking up a conversation whether she was in the grocery store line or shopping somewhere. Shopping was a hobby of hers, she loved a good sale. She also enjoyed gardening. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and she lit up a room with her smile. Barbara is survived by her daughter Melissa Libhart, and granddaughters, Madelyn and Emma Libhart, who were the light of her life; as well as her beloved sisters Kathy Zoch, Sherri Johnson (Kent), and Becky Vit (Bill). A Celebration of Life will be held on July 31, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 North Macdonald, Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
