MARY ORTEGA MORENO HERNANDEZ Mary Ortega Moreno Hernandez, 73, died unexpectedly June 21, 2021, at her residence. She was born February 15, 1948, in Gilbert, the daughter of Anselmo and Midelia Moreno. Mary graduated from Gilbert High School. Following graduation, she worked for Motorola for 30 years, and worked in the family business at Arizona Furniture Store which was opened for over 100 years. She married the love of her life, Sergio Hernandez, in January of 1974 and they settled in Mesa. Mary loved to dance, read, and complete puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, especially her seven grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Sergio Hernandez; her brothers Arturo, Anselmo, David, and Joe Moreno. Surviving is her son, Sergio Hernandez Jr. and her daughter Myla Vanzzini. In addition to her children, are her seven grandchildren, Isabella Hernandez, Sophia Hernandez, Danni Rose Hernandez, Robert Vanzzini Jr., Joaquin Vanzzini, Alejandro Vanzzini, and Jocelyn Vanzzini; seven brothers, and six sisters; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 29 at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald, Mesa, AZ 85201. Mass will be at Christ the King Church, Wednesday, June 30 at 11 a.m., burial will follow at Mesa Cemetery. Potluck reception will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Moose Lodge, 7402 E.
