Shirley Ann Sherwood

On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, beloved sister, mom, and grandma, Shirley Ann (Nelson) Sherwood passed away at the age of 90. Ann was born in Phoenix, Arizona on November 6, 1930. She was married to Cecil Wayne Sherwood on June 9, 1950. They spent most of their years in Mesa, Arizona raising their four children Cynthia, Darrell, and twins, Dan and Sam. Ann taught Home Ec for many years at Carson Junior High and at Mesa High School. Ann & Wayne served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Charlotte, North Carolina. Later on they were called to serve at the Family History Center. Ann loved all the years she spent serving at the Mesa Regional Family History Center and enjoyed the many friends she made there. She is preceded in death by many loved ones including: her parents Samuel Bernard Nelson & Viola Virginia Werner Nelson, as well as, her husband of 61 years who passed in 2011, Wayne Sherwood. She is survived by her brother Joe (Susan) Nelson, daughter Cynthia (Keith) Peters, son Darrell Sherwood, son Dan Sherwood, son Sam (Vicki) Sherwood and 23 grandchildren and 73 great-grandchildren. Visitations and Memorial Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel, 3025 S. Hawes Road Mesa, Arizona 85212.
