Richard Farril Holman
November 3rd, 1929 - March 15th, 2020
Richard Farril Holman, 90, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on March 15, 2020. Born November 3, 1929 in Mount Pleasant, Utah to Farril and Luella Jorgensen Holman. He graduated from Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah. He enjoyed spending time with his siblings, friends and playing his trumpet. Richard learned the trucking business while working for his father and later Ashworth. Married to Joyce Garfield and sealed in the St. George Temple. As a member of the Air Force, Richard was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Richard earned his Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics certification from Northrop Aeronautical Institute in Inglewood, CA. He later utilized these skills working on commercial aircraft for the following airlines: Bonanza, Air West, Hughes Air West, Republic, Northwest, and America West. He enjoyed working on his trucks, flying his airplane and finding ways to serve so many in his family, ward, and community. Richard faithfully served in numerous callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including Cub Master, High Priesthood Group leader, Executive Secretary and as a dedicated home teacher. Richard was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and loyal friend. Survived by his children Cheri, Judy (Keevin), Scott (Kelli) and Robert (Robyn), 18 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, sisters Maralyn (Grant) Larson and JoAn (Richard) Dahl. Preceded in death by his eternal companion Joyce, his loving parents, and brothers Bryant (Jayne) and David (Myrna). A viewing to be held Friday, March 20, 2020 at Meldrum Mortuary 52 N. Macdonald, Mesa, AZ 85201 6-8 P.M. Funeral Services Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Scottsdale Camelback Stake Center, 2202 N. 74th St Scottsdale, AZ 85257, at 2pm with viewing one hour prior.
