Mary Darlene Brinkerhoff
March 24th, 1948 - February 25th, 2020
Darlene DeWitt Brinkerhoff Born March 24, 1948 Passed Away February 25, 2020 Darlene Brinkerhoff, 71, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2020 surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy O. Brinkerhoff, M.D. She is survived by her daughter Linsey, husband Tyler Maxson and grandchildren Cole, Bowen, Ridge, and Belle; son Jake and wife Colleen Brinkerhoff and grandchildren Mackenzy, Jaidyn, and Libby; son Travis and wife Stacey Brinkerhoff and grandchildren Navi, Krew, Cap, Saylor and Sunny; daughter Bailee and husband Taylor Morris and grandchildren Zoe and Tilly. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Waldo and Nancy DeWitt. Her siblings are Laron, Dilles, Sterling, Mitchell (deceased) and Danny (deceased). Darlene met Troy Brinkerhoff, the love of her life, when she was 15 years old. After graduating from Westwood High School in 1966 she and Troy were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple November 22nd 1968. She attended Arizona State University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Teaching school was a blessing as she was able to support Troy while he was in medical school. Nothing was more important to Darlene than her family. She found joy as a mother as each of their children joined the family. Her door was open and welcoming for everyone. She never seemed to be weary in well doing--whether in her home, as a neighbor, a friend, or through Church or community service; but especially to those in need. She had a heart to feel and eyes to see the needs of others. Her "charity never faileth." She will be remembered lovingly by family, friends and neighbors as "Grandma Dar." Darlene was a dedicated wife, a wonderful mother, an incredible educator, an advocate for education, for children, and she was a woman of great influence in her church and in the community.
