Josefina Verdugo Marquez

Josefina Verdugo Marquez, 78, was known to some as "Chepa", and to others as Josie. She was born on October 23, 1940 in Mesa, AZ. Josie passed away on August 29, 2019 at the Banner Baywood Medical Center at 11:39 P.M., while she was amongst loved ones. Survivors include her spouse, Agustin L. Marquez; her sons, Eliborio Cantu, Agustin V. Marquez, and her daughters, Sylvia Lopez, Josie Perez, Rachel Herrera, and Marlene Madueno; her brothers, Ramon Verdugo and James Verdugo. She had (16) grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whom all loved her very much. Josie was preceded in death by her daughter Isabel V. Cantu (2017). Josie, loved thrift store shopping at various segundas for antiques and good bargain deals. She enjoyed to watch her favorite Spanish talk show, Laura, as well as novelas and the daily news. Like most women, she loved gifts. Her favorite holidays were Mother's Day and her birthday. When she could, she enjoyed to take a road-trip with her niece, Martha, to Yuma, AZ and visit her brother Ramon "Monie", and his wife Viola. Red roses were her favorite flower and her favorite bible scripture was Psalm 23. Josie's past time was spending it amongst family and even enjoyed the occasional Karaoke with family during birthdays and holidays. She loved the songs, Un Dia A La Vez and
