Stephen Robert Leathers
October 1st, 1948 - March 2nd, 2019
Stephen Robert Leathers 10/1/1948-3/2/2019 Father Grandfather Brother Uncle Friend Stephen was born in Fairfield, Iowa on October 1st, 1948 to Mr. & Mrs. Harold and Carol Leathers. He is survived by his daughter Katie Mozurkewich, son-in-law Paul, grandchildren Nova (17) and Emma (15); as well as his brother Stuart Leathers, sister-in-law Debbie, and their adult children James (Gina), April, and Wesley Leathers, and their children and grandchildren. Stephen is predeceased by his parents, wife Jeannie, and son Robert. Steve was a man of many talents. Graduating from ASU with an education in mathematics and physics, he went on to become a homebuilder under the name of Leathers Enterprises with his parents by his side. He owned and managed twenty businesses over the course of his career. He and Jeannie lived a wonderful life full of travel, dance, church service, hard work, and family fun. Steve was always ready with a great piece of advice, or a helping hand to anyone in need. He spent the last years of his life working at Home Depot where he made many friends. Stephen enjoyed many hobbies and had multiple talents. He loved to fly, and to take his family out on the lake in his boats. He was an accomplished musician. He played keyboard, bass guitar, and trombone in high school and college, sang with the First United Methodist Church choir for several years, and more recently played with the God's Grace Church praise band. He wrote and recorded his own music, as well as several books. His published book, Nikki & Skipp, was inspired by miracles he and Jeannie experienced during their incredible life together. Steve was a man of his word, a terrific friend, a loving father and grandfather; and his sweet, gracious smile and funny grin will be sorely missed by all of the lives he touched on this earth.
