Ignacio Maroquin Sr.

Ignacio Maroquin Sr was born in Hidalgo, Mexico on October 15th, 1937. He passed away peacefully in his own home, surrounded by his children and grandchildren on February 7th, 2018. Ignacio was by trade a plumbing engineer and pipe fitter. He helped in the building of the St. Louis Arch, the Palo Verde Nuclear Plant, the Cholla Power Plant and Desert Samaritan Hospital just to name a few. Ignacio was employed at Motorola in Mesa for over 25 years when he entered into retirement. He is survived by his children in Mesa who are Marina Maroquin, Ignacio Maroquin Jr, Gabriel Maroquin, Daniel Maroquin, Ezequiel Maroquin and Angelica Maroquin Reams. He is also survived by his children in Oklahoma who are Silvia Asepermy, Gene Marroquin, Christine Darnell, Gary Marroquin, Kevin Marroquin, Carmella Fowler and Milene Marroquin. He is preceded in death by his daughters Angela Maroquin and Julie Marroquin. Ignacio has 39 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. His family and friends will remember him mostly for being a hard worker and great provider. For his strong faith and love for Jesus Christ. His great love for music and dancing and his mastered skills at the game of dominoes. His family and closest friends called him, the Domino Kid. And his even greater love for his sports teams, the LA Dodgers, LA Lakers and LA Rams. SPECIAL NOTE: During Ignacio's last days, he requested that his ex-wife's cremated remains, Juanita Valdez Maroquin, be laid to rest with him in his casket.
