April 27th, 1931 - August 19th, 2017
Edward Lambert Svitek "Gramps" , age 86, passed away of complications from Sigmoid Volvus on August, 19th 2017, in Mesa Arizona. He is survived by his dearly-loved wife of many years Jeannie Svitek, his sister Anne Shanske, many nieces and nephews, as well as his son Gregory Svitek (Renee) of Houston Texas, Dee Meador (Frankie) of Mesa Arizona, George Lewis Adkins (Naomi) of Prichard West Virginia. Grandchildren; Jamie Harper (Ben) of Houston Texas, Michelle Svitek of Houston Texas, Bill Meador (Lisa) of Chicago Illinois, Sean Meador (April) of Mesa Arizona, Valerie Goodreau (Eric) of San Tan Valley Arizona. Great grandchildren Corbin Harper, Caitlin Guenther, Dylan Meador, Keegan Goodreau AR USN , Cameron Goodreau, Kelsey Meador, Jack Meador, Alysa Goodreau. He is preceded in death by his loving son Edward Andrew Svitek, his parents, Brothers; Al , Victor , Joe and sisters Zita and Rita. Edward was born on April 27th, 1931 in Downers Grove Illinois, to Victor and Ann Ganda, adopted by Andrew and Sophia Svitek. Gramps graduated from Clark High School, in Whiting Indiana, in 1949. Gramps attended Purdue University, he served in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He retired from LTV Steel in 1993, after 41 years as an Electrician Foreman. He was actively involved in the local AA Community. He loyally attended Queen of Peace Parish in Mesa Arizona. His family and friends will always remember him as a loyal, loving extremely selfless and positive role model to all he met. Gramps enjoyed watching sports especially his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Funeral services are planned for Gramps on Thursday September 7th, 2017 at Queen of Peace , 141 N Macdonald, Mesa Az at 10 a.m. GO IRISH!!!!! Cemetery Details City of Mesa Cemetery 1212 N.
