William Raymond Potter

William "Bill" Potter was born October 29, 1947 in upstate New York and passed away July 11, 2016 in Mesa, AZ. William was one of four children born to Robert and Dorothy Potter. He was a loving father, brother and uncle and will be deeply missed by those close to him. After college he started his life work in insurance as a Loss Control agent with The Hartford Insurance Company. William had passion for insurance and was a true professional in his field, earning his Associates in Risk Management ARM designation in 1975 and his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter CPCU designation in 1976. After working for other agencies, William opened his own agency, Potter & Associates in Tucson, AZ. He was an innovator in the industry and strong supporter of numerous charitable organizations in the Tucson area. After retiring he moved to Phoenix to care for his mother and to be closer to his son. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Kay Borchert. He is survived by his son Brian Potter, daughter in law Joanne Potter, his brothers Gary and Bob Potter, his nephews Matthew Borchert, John Craig, and Scott Massey, his nieces Bonnie Badilla, Debbie McLaughlin., and Virginia Schiefer, and his sister in law Cherre Potter.
