Elizabeth "Liz" Bowers Sheridan

Age 88. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, friend, and grandmother Liz Sheridan. She was born October 29, 1925 in Rochester NY & passed away September 7, 2014. At age 6, she and her family moved to Burlingame, California. Because her husband worked for Standard Oil of California, they transferred many times which included Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Modesto, Fresno and the Seattle area. Their last and final move was to Mesa Arizona in 1974. They enjoyed an early retirement that included playing golf, bridge, travel, ceramic painting and activities with friends and family. She and her husband Bill were members of the Mesa Country Club. She was a member of St Marks Episcopal Church and involved with the alter guild and their thrift shop. She also volunteered her time to the Mesa Assistance league. Her husband William Sheridan, parents Grace and Harry Bowers and brother Ward, who died in WW II, preceded her in death. Three children survive her: Grace Sheridan, Kevin Sheridan and wife Sydney, and Gail Sheridan husband Ron. Six grand daughters and sixteen great grandchildren also survive her. Liz will be remembered as a very giving, kind, thoughtful and loving human being and will truly be missed. A memorial service is being planned at her parish, followed by a burial service at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Meldrum Mortuary is handling arrangements.
