John S. Weaver, 74 passed away peacefully at home on May 3rd, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Margaret and John Weaver, and brother, David S. Weaver. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and a friend to many. John was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 16, 1940 and was raised in Gary, Indiana. After attending Horace Mann High School, Wheaton College and Purdue University he was drafted into the United States Army and served from 1963-1965. He married his childhood sweetheart Martha J. Merwald in 1963 and moved to Arizona in 1970. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Martha, his daughter Lori Nicholas, son John Theresa and his grandchildren John, Samuel, Emma, and Brynne. During his life John worked for U.S. Steel, owned his own trucking business in Indiana, and was a member of Local 428 of the Operating Engineers in Arizona. There will be a private burial at the National Cemetery in Cave Creek, Arizona. A celebration of his life will be held at his son's house on Saturday, May 10, 11am.
