David Garnett Nix, 79, passed away Saturday September 7, 2013, at his home in Phoenix. David was born August 24, 1934 in Phoenix to John and Norma Nix. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Voniece, children, Carl Elizabeth, Dalisa Velte, Pamela Stratton Kent, Darin Julie, Grady Lori, 22 Grandchildren , 15 Great Grandchildren , 3 sisters , Jeanne Wright, Cheryl Long and Mary Lou Elliot, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers. David had fond memories of his childhood in Phoenix. He attended Riverside Elementary, Phoenix, Union and West High. He served 3 years in the Naval Airforce and attended ASU. He was a Rancher, Farmer, Team roper, Calf roper, Cowboy. He loved Arizona where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Visitation 9:00 am, Services 10:00 am on Saturday September14th 2013 at the L.D.S Phoenix West Maricopa Stake Center, 8702 W. Campbell Phoenix Arizona. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the L.D.S. Missionary Fund in c/o Bishop Randall L. Clift, Tolleson Ward 8505 W.Gross Ave. Tolleson Az. 85353
