William Earl Stott

William Earl Stott passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 27, 2013 at the age of 86. Bill was born in Douglas, Arizona to Edgar and Florence Stott. At the age of seventeen Bill enlisted in the Navy and served during WWII. After his honorable service to his country he went on to establish himself in the insurance industry. At this time he began to court and went on to marry his eternal mate Marla Jean Bird in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They went on to have seven children and commit to a lifetime of service to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bill was at his best serving the youth as scoutmaster and sharing the gospel with the special-needs community at the Arizona Training Center. Bill is preceded in death by his daughters: Sheri Lynne and Trudy Jean. He is survived by his wife Marla; daughter Becky Poel Rick; sons: David, Kelly Alica, Eldon Lilian, and Glade Laura. He is also survived by his sister Lila and his brother Raymond. Services will be held on Saturday, August 3 at 10:00 AM at the Boulder Creek Stake Center at 3025 S. Hawes Rd. in Mesa, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. An additional viewing will be on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald in Mesa.
