Paul Irvin James

Paul James Sr passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on January 16th 2024. Paul was born on November 12th 1933 in Mesa, AZ to Bernice and Jessie James. Paul was survived by his wife LoRee (Sellers) James of 68 years. Survivors also include his son Paul (Poncho) James Jr; daughter Pam her husband (Mike McGough); 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Paul was in the Army where he served 2 years in the Korean War. He worked construction where he helped build many of the highways, freeways, and bridges all over the state of Arizona. He was a proud member of the Local Labor 383 were he just earned his 50-year Gold Card which he was so very proud of. He enjoyed working on his Jeep or any vehicle with the guys and being able to teach them everything he knew. His loved his place up north where he could enjoy the trees, weather, hunting, fishing, and when he wasn’t doing that, he was building something new. But most of all he just loved spending time with family and friends telling stories while enjoying a cup of coffee. Memorial service at 11:00am on January 31th at Meldrum Mortuary 52 N. Macdonald Mesa, AZ 85201. A short grave site military service at 12:30pm Mesa Cemetery 1212 N. Center St Mesa, AZ 85201.
