Ewalker James
September 2nd, 1934 - June 3rd, 2023
Ewalker James went to be with our Lord on June 3, 2023, the 68th wedding anniversary with his loving wife, the late Rosalee James, whom he met and married in Belton, TX on June 3, 1955. He was born in Florence, South Carolina, to the late Abraham Wright, Sr. and Lillie James Wright. He is survived by three sons, Kelvin D. James (wife Marsha), Brian R. James (wife Dionne), and Kenneth M. James. They have four grandchildren, Crystal C. James, Elizabeth R. James, Elisha R. James, and Austin Tyler Ewalker James. Ewalker is survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Williams (NC) and Rosa Holmes (MD); one brother, Abraham Wright Jr., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. In his service to Christ, family, country, and community, Ewalker was a retired Chief Warrant Officer 2 Army veteran, retired Civil Service member, member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Seaside, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Monterey Jazz Festival Board member, Citizens League for Progress President, CA Association of Compensatory Education, Monterey County Overall Economic Development, Seaside Cultural Arts Group, NAACP Lifetime member, and Retired Men's Social Club past President and founder, among others. A visitation will be held at Mission Mortuary and Memorial Park 1915 Ord Grove Avenue in Seaside, on Wednesday, June 21st from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm; a Celebration of Life will be held at New Hope Baptist Church 1304 Sonoma Avenue in Seaside, on Thursday, June 22nd at 10:00 am with the burial to follow at Mission Mortuary and Memorial Park. A repast for family and friends will follow at New Hope Baptist Church.
