Our beautiful and beloved, Aiko Sugahara Hunter, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24th, 2023, at the well lived age of 95 years old. She was born on October 15, 1927 in Japan to her father, Hidesaburo Sugaha, and mother, Hauyo Satou. She was a long-time resident of Seaside, California where she spent her time with her loving husband, William Hunter and her favorite furry companions, Hope 1.0 and Hope 2.0. Since her husband’s passing in 2014, she has spent her time at home with her daughter, Edwina Caldwell, making wonderful memories together. Her greatest blessing was watching her grandson, Kyle Good, begin his family and succeed with his career and marriage. The family would visit as often as possible to make memories together that will last a lifetime. In her most recent years, dementia sadly began to impede Aiko’s lifestyle. However, she never forgot her family or the delicious taste of her favorite ice cream or the comfort of Japanese food. Aiko was cherished and adored by all who came into her life. Our family will likely never understand the impact she has had on our lives and we will hold her in our hearts for eternity. Thinking of the loved ones who went before her that now surround her with open arms, allows our family to find peace and comfort during this painstaking time. Aiko was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband of 7 years, William Henry Hunter and her dog Hope 1.0. She is survived by her loving daughter Edwina Christina Caldwell (John Lawrence), adoring grandson Kyle Leon Good (Heather Good), and four great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Leanne Good, Christian Lawrence Good, Isabella Aiko Good and Aubrielle Michael Good.
