Gladys Marie Locklar
January 26th, 1933 - February 9th, 2024
Gladys Marie Locklar, peacefully passed away on February 9, 2024, after 91 years of a beautiful life. Born on January 26, 1933 to Ase Bailes and Lilly Perkins in Kansas City Kansas, Gladys lived her life to the fullest and left a lasting impression on the everyone she met. Gladys was a server down at the Fisherman’s wharf in Monterey CA for several years. She was a stay home later in years to take care of her children she also did a lot of volunteer work for local charities. Gladys loved to shop, her favorite stores was Macy’s and Thrift stores. You would always find her doing word find puzzles. She would sit for hours watching every fixer upper or renovation programs. Her favorite tv program was Wheel of Fortune. Gladys is survived by her son Terry Rankin, daughter Bonnie Duggan, and son Jessie Garrett. Her grandchildren Jake Rankin, Julia Heess, Nicholas Garrett, Amy McCart, Phillip Tennissen and Daniel Rankin. Great grandchildren Deacan Thomas Heess, Haley Scarth and was blessed with many more that brought endless pride into her life. We will all cherish her memory forever. Gladys was preceded in death by her Husband Billy Harold Locklar, Son Thomas Mitchell Rankin and Grandson Shawn Garrett. Their souls met again on February 9, 2024. Gladys family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Hospice of the Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula for the compassionate care in her final days. Gladys’s kindness, love and generosity touched the lives of many, and she will be dearly missed. We will celebrate her beautiful life with a Urn service on Friday April 26, 2024 at 1:00pm at Mission Memorial Park 1915 Ord Grove Seaside CA 93955
