Raul Hinojosa Rodriguez, born November 9, 1920 in Eagle Pass, Texas, passed away September 10th after a long illness, at the age of 92 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was proceeded in death by his parents Emeterio F. Rodriguez and Rosa Hinojosa, brothers, Emeterio F. Raul was a veteran of World War II in Europe, a member of the American Legion, Post 0591 for 24 years. He had a long history in the culinary field beginning in the early 1950s working at Wishing Well Restaurant, El Patio Restaurant, The Poppy Restaurant, Herman's Restaurant, Eddie's Restaurant, The Outrigger Restaurant and the Elk's Lodge in Salinas. Problems with his vision in the mid 1980's, prevented him from continuing in the restaurant service field. Raul is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years Margarita Reyes Rodriguez, two sons, Raul Rodriguez and Oscar Rodriguez, grandchildren, Robert Rodriguez, Oscar Rodriguez, Lacey Crocker, Stephanie Smith, Jennifer Bowman and great grandchildren Julian Rodriguez, Isaak Rodriguez, Jonathan Smith and Bailey Smith. Mission Memorial Park
For almost 100 years, our cemetery has served the residents of the Monterey Bay Area. Mission Memorial Park opened in 1934 as Mission Memorial Cemetery and for many years was run by the City of Monterey. In 1988, Monterey Peninsula Mortuary opened on the grounds of our beautiful Seaside location. In 2007 we closed our Chapel of Seaside at our Noche Buena location and merged the two to become Mission Mortuary & Memorial Park....
