Hazel C. Breaux July 30, 1936 - January 28, 2014 Marina, CA- Hazel C. Breaux passed away peacefully on January 28th surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old. Hazel was born in Donaldsonville, Louisiana in 1936 to Joseph and Ceola Walker. Later relocating with her family to Marina, Ca. Hazel was a very devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved Jesus and called him her best friend. Her family was everything to her. She had a passion for cooking and much time was spent gathered around the kitchen table. Love, Laughter and Loyalty filled her home. Hazel retired from Monterey Peninsula Unified School District after 20 years in food service. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, James Breaux Sr; Mother, Ceola Jackson-Walker; Father, Joseph Walker and four brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, James Breaux Jr. (Andreia), Michael Breaux (Vera); one daughter, Shari Breaux-LaStrape; Six Grandchildren, Ray LaStrape Jr., Marcus Breaux, Andrew Breaux, Tiffany LaStrape, Christopher Breaux and Daniel Breaux; Sister, Anita Jones (Emmitt); Brother, Stanford Walker Sr. Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 4-8pm at Mission Memorial Park & Seaside Funeral Home, 1915 Ord Grove Ave Seaside, CA 93955. Services will take place on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 1pm at Fort Ord Military Community Chapel Bldg 4280 General Jim Moore Blvd Seaside, CA 93955 (Big White Chapel in Fort Ord). Interment to follow at Mission Memorial Park, 1915 Ord Grove Ave Seaside, CA 93955. Officiating Minister, Dr. Anthony Dunham of the Friendship Baptist Church in Seaside, CA. A special thank you to Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula's Hospice service, Dr. Thomas Bradley and all of her Health Care Workers. Mission Memorial Park
For almost 100 years, our cemetery has served the residents of the Monterey Bay Area. Mission Memorial Park opened in 1934 as Mission Memorial Cemetery and for many years was run by the City of Monterey. In 1988, Monterey Peninsula Mortuary opened on the grounds of our beautiful Seaside location. In 2007 we closed our Chapel of Seaside at our Noche Buena location and merged the two to become Mission Mortuary & Memorial Park....
