Juan Marrero- Pabon passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, April 16th, 2018 at the age of 89. He was born to Rosaly Marrero and Altagracia Pabon in Puerto Rico on June 5th, 1928. Juan enlisted in the United States Army in 1951, his military career included two tours of Korea, two tours in Germany, and two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, six Bronze Stars, with the "V" for valor, the Combat Infantry Badge "Two Awards" and 26 Letters of Commendations. Juan is survived by his loving wife Fujiko, four sons, Juan, Abner, Jose, and Edwin, and two daughters, Linda and Dolly. A Visitation will be held on Monday, April 23rd, 2018, at Seaside Funeral Home, from 9am to 1pm, with a Funeral Service beginning at 1pm. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 2pm at Mission Memorial Park.

For almost 100 years, our cemetery has served the residents of the Monterey Bay Area. Mission Memorial Park opened in 1934 as Mission Memorial Cemetery and for many years was run by the City of Monterey. In 1988, Monterey Peninsula Mortuary opened on the grounds of our beautiful Seaside location. In 2007 we closed our Chapel of Seaside at our Noche Buena location and merged the two to become Mission Mortuary & Memorial Park....
