Clyde Leon White
November 4th, 1940 - March 22nd, 2014
Clyde Leon White was born November 4, 1940, in the village of Oregon, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Manheim Township High School, Class of 1958, he worked for several years for Charles Chips, Mountville, PA, and then served honorably in the U.S. Army. His last assignment was at Fort Ord, Monterey, California, where he met Claudia Marie Hoagland. For 35 years he was a Supervisor at California American Water Company in Monterey. Clyde was a collector of classic cars, was a member of the Moose, and attended Monterey Bay Christian Center. He always had a unique phrase or expression. For example, he once told a hospital that his family doctor is his cat, Snowball! At the Water Company he was known as "the gobbler". Clyde checked out (his phrase) on Saturday night, March 22, 2014, at Cypress Ridge Care Facility, Monterey, in the 48th year of his marriage to Claudia. Clyde is now at peace in the arms of Jesus. In addition to his wife, Claudia Marie White, Clyde is survived by his sister, Arlene White Mosemann, Lancaster, PA. There are six surviving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers John and Harold White, and his niece Nancy Bollinger. A viewing will take place for Clyde on Tuesday, March 25th at Seaside Funeral Home, 1915 Ord Grove Ave., beginning at 1pm until the time of his funeral service at 2pm followed by burial at Mission Memorial Park in Seaside.

We Entrusted Clyde White's Care To
Mission Memorial Park
For almost 100 years, our cemetery has served the residents of the Monterey Bay Area. Mission Memorial Park opened in 1934 as Mission Memorial Cemetery and for many years was run by the City of Monterey. In 1988, Monterey Peninsula Mortuary opened on the grounds of our beautiful Seaside location. In 2007 we closed our Chapel of Seaside at our Noche Buena location and merged the two to become Mission Mortuary & Memorial Park....
