Frank M. Morgan
May 7th, 1919 - April 1st, 2014
Frank Mattison Morgan MD, FACP CACP - A Great Gentleman Dr. Morgan will be fondly remembered by his patients as their: friend, confidant and courageous advocate for their health. Dr Morgan was always there for his patients, day or night, often making house-calls to selflessly ensure his and his colleagues patients well-being. Dr. Morgan served the country during World War II in the United States Navy as a doctor at Mare Island Naval Base in the San Francisco Bay. Dr Morgan was very proud of his service to his country during this difficult period in world history. Dr. Morgan started his private practice of medicine in Southern California. He served the community there for 30 years holding the position of Chief of Staff for Glendale Community Memorial Hospital and President of Los Angeles County Medical Association. After the passing of his first wife Jean, Dr. Morgan moved to Carmel, CA where he started his second practice of Internal Medicine. Dr Morgan served the Monterey Peninsula community from offices in Carmel Valley, Monterey and the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP). Dr. Morgan was happy to interpret EKGs for CHOMP. Dr Morgan was a devoted husband and is survived by his second wife Anne-Laure, the children of his first wife Ann and Scott, his grandchildren; Megan and Wyatt and his great grandchildren; Miranda, and Ian . Dr. Morgan exemplified the definition of the Renaissance Man: scholar, inventor, artist, chef, gardener, equestrian, pianist world traveler and tennis player. His humor, passion, creations and generosity blessed all those that he knew and had the occasion to meet. The world was a better place while Dr. Morgan walked among us. He will be somberly missed by all. Services for Dr. Morgan will be held at the Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino Estero, Monterey, CA at 12:00 noon , Monday April 7, 2014 In Lieu of flowers contributions to the following charities are appreciated: American Cancer Association, American Heart Association, Univ. of Southern California Medical School.
