Mementos

In loving memory of Joshua Paul Van Poucke who died on August 17, 2017. He was only thirty-six years old, but in that short time managed to provide loving assistance and kindness to many, many people. Joshua was a proud member of the Coast Guard, joining the service in 2003. After basic training, he was stationed in Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Seattle, Washington; Buchanan, Tennessee; Bahrain; and Monterey Bay, California. In Monterey Bay he served at the rank of MK1. During his fourteen-year career in the Coast Guard Joshua received many awards and commendations including the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals, two Coast Guard Letters of Commendation, four Coast Guard Good Conduct Medals, CG Cutterman insignia and CG Boat Forces insignia. In the Coast Guard, Josh found a place to excel and grow into the man he became. Josh's family is deeply grateful for the care and concern that the Coast Guard has continued to show in the difficult days after his death. Joshua was born August 5, 1981, in Springfield, Missouri and moved to the Pacific Grove at 10 months old with his mother, Debbie Van Poucke and his older sister, Regina Van Poucke. He graduated high school at North County High School. Josh enjoyed rock climbing, gaming, and traveling with his daughter. Josh was a loving and supportive son to his mother, Debbie Van Poucke, Mt. Home, Arkansas, a devoted father to his daughter Katharine Ryan Van Poucke, Paducah, Ky., and a loving brother and "technical savior" to his sister, Regina Van Poucke, Redondo Beach, California. Joshua was considered a loving family member to his Aunt Linda and Uncle Bob Delcambre and their three daughters (Sarah Jane, Diana, and Samantha) of Pacific Grove, California. The Delcambre family and the Van Poucke family lovingly shared every birthday, every holiday, and every milestone of either family for 20 years. When Joshua received his transfer orders to Monterey Bay, he was overjoyed because he felt like he was coming home. Josh is survived by his daughter, Katie, his mother, Debbie; sister, Regina, (Matt Schneider), Aunt Linda (Bob, Pacific Grove, CA), First Cousins Sarah Jane Casciato (Dan and daughter Maya, Santa Cruz, CA) Diana Delcambre, (Pacific Grove, CA.), Samantha Delcambre (Parker Pelegrin, Green Bay, WI), Aunts Collette Jones, California MO, Dianne Bowker (John) first cousins Eddie and Michael Shook (Ozark, MO), Aunt Marguerite Zumalt (Bobby) first cousins Json and Kat (Springfield, MO) Uncle John Kriebel (Springfield, MO), and Grandparents August Van Poucke, (Mt.
