Stephen Robert Boyle left this world on July 28th, leaving his beloved wife Kathleen and legacy of children Kimberly, Stephen, Kathleen, Kristine, Kandice, Sean, and Michael, as well as 10 grandchildren. Stephen was born on May 5th, 1939 in New York City to Robert E. A. Boyle and Mary Brokaw Boyle, and grew up in Sturgis, Michigan. He lettered in football, baseball, and basketball, and was honored as an All-State athlete in the latter. He married his high-school sweetheart Kathleen on June 24th, 51 years ago. Stephen was a 1961 graduate of University of Michigan?s Engineering School, and was a proud Wolverine. He enjoyed watching U of M football throughout his life, particularly when one of his many U of M graduate children was enrolled there and could enjoy the game with him and Kathleen. His life was an amazing journey that took him and his family to all corners of the world. Stephen was a civil engineer with US Steel Corporation, and his vast expertise building cold rolling steel mills took them to such exotic places as Spain, Taiwan, and Indonesia. Stephen and his wife were able to build their dream house in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, before they moved to the Monterey Peninsula to be close to many of their children in the San Francisco Bay area. He and his wife recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by their family on the beautiful California coast they call home. Stephen?s favorite memories in life were of traveling throughout Europe with his wife and seven children. On July 28th he lost a long battle with Parkinson?s disease. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and he will be fondly remembered and loved always. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of Stephen to the Cornerstone Campaign (SanCarlosCathedral.org/Cornerstone-Campaign.com) or on his Memorial page at the National Parkinson?s Foundation (http://prkorg.convio.net/goto/SRB).

Mission Mortuary opened its doors in 1946 at a location on Munras Avenue in Monterey and moved to our current location on Camino El Estero in 1952. While times certainly have changed, Mission Mortuary has continually adapted to meet the evolving needs of our families....
