Genevieve Cardinale Bomarito June 5, 1927-February 28, 2020 On February 28, 2020 Genevieve passed away peacefully surrounded in love by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born in Salinas in 1927 to Joe and Mary Teresa. Genevieve lived in Salinas and was married to Salvatore Cardinale in 1945. Genevieve and Salvatore lived in Monterey and had three businesses Cardinale Cheese and Delivery, Jolly Joe’s Restaurant and Genevieve’s Gift Shop. Family was everything to her and she lived her life in full support of her husband, boys, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her house was always the go-to house for family gatherings and Sunday dinner. Family and friends remember great food on the table filled with stories and laughter. Genevieve was a religious family-oriented woman who had strong values that she passed on to all of her family. Those that knew her loved her gusto for life. They had three sons whom she adored, loved and supported. Vincent Cardinale (Jennifer), Joseph Cardinale (Jeannette) and Thomas Cardinale (Catherine). When her husband Salvatore died after 35 years of a loving marriage she found love again with Michael Bomarito. She was married to Michael for 35 years until his death in 2010. Genevieve is also survived by her grandchildren Genevieve Pullara (Chris), Salvatore Cardinale (Kelli), Juliana Cardinale, Isabella Cardinale, Genevieve Cardinale-Pena (John), Salvatore Cardinale, Theresa Bruzzone, Tiffany Cardinale. Great Grandchildren-Ryan Pullara, Austin Pullara, Lauren Pullara, Kathryn Cardinale, Allison Cardinale, Joseph Cardinale, Sophia Cardinale, Catherine Cardinale-Pena, Ella Cardinale-Pena, Thomas Cardinale-Pena, Aubrianna Bruzzone and Milania Castellanos. She is survived by her sister Josephine Borges from Los Banos and her sister Marietta House from Louisiana. She had 7 brothers and sisters. She was very close to all of her siblings and maintained loving relationships with them until their passing. Services will be held on Wednesday March 4th at Mission Mortuary for visitation from 4pm-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial at San Carlos Cathedral on Thursday March 5th at 9:30am intermit to follow at San Carlos Catholic Cemetery. Reception following services on Thursday at Pasadera Country Club. In lieu of flowers, please kindly donate to St. Jude Children's Hospital on behalf of Genevieve Cardinale Bomarito.
