Ronald Joe Fortney, Sr.

Ronald Joe Fortney, Sr. born on November 23, 1949, passed away on May 10, 2019. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Ronald J. Fortney II (Kimberley), Lavonne Adams (Benjamen), and Cynthia “Lori” Courson. He was a wonderful Papa (Papaw) to John Cody Stacy, Benjamen Adams II, Joseph Fortney, Gladys Adams, Allison Fortney, and Sarah Adams along with one great grandchild, Carmen. He was preceded in death by both of his loving wives Stephanie Fortney (Deceased 1983) and Judy Fortney (Deceased 2018). Ronald is son to Georgia Mae and Walter Scott Fortney who preceded him in death. He is a brother to Walter S. Fortney (Linda), James Fortney (Jan), Charles Fortney (Dale), Kenneth Fortney, Ashell Edwards (D), Lisa Dentith. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Joe-Joe, along with many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Ronald will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 2:00 PM, at New Life Family Church located at 1700 NW 60th Avenue Ocala, FL 34482. All who would like to attend are welcome. We will also be holding a memorial service in Hazard, Kentucky on June 8th, 2019 at 2:00PM in the New Hope Church located at 407 Gorman Hollow Road Hazard, KY 41701. Following the service we will be laying his ashes in The Jones Family Cemetery at Mill Branch. All who would like to attend are welcome.
