Sandra Marie Briggs

Sandra Marie Briggs, 81, of Ocala passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2020 in her home. Born on January 31, 1939, to the late Jack Wright and Rosemary Scheuer Wright. Sandra was a native of Detroit, Michigan and moved to Tampa, Florida in the late fifties where she met and married Charles Edward Briggs, February 12, 1960. Gardening was her favorite pastime where she could tend to God's creation and watch it grow and bloom around her. This passion overflowed into her personal relationships. Whether family or friends she enriched the lives of those she loved and touched. Her greatest satisfaction in life was simply being Nonie to her family. Sandy was an active member of her church where she spent many years working with preschool children, singing in the choir, being a greeter and an active member of her Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Briggs, sister, Marilyn Stevenson and grandson, Carson Purdy. Sandra is survived by her children, Nancy Briggs Purdy and Charles Edward Briggs, Jr.; her 7 grandchildren: Braden, Dalton, Nikolas, Mariah, Ona Lee, Char-Lee, and Garrett and 3 great-grandchildren: Cade, Caleb and Adriah. A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Burial Park Cemetery (4620 US Hwy 98 S, Lakeland, FL 33812) on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 11am.
