Marian E. Sharer-Fitzgerald

Marian E. Sharer-Fitzgerald, 103, of Sun City Center, FL passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 06, 2021 in Ocala, Florida. She was born in Chicago, IL on June 14, 1918. She was the daughter of Minor E. White and Jessie Roney. She was pre-deceased by her parents, husbands Dr. Robert F. Sharer and Gilbert M. Fitzgerald, a sister Barbara Fischer, and one brother M. Paul White. Marian was a graduate of Kankakee High School and Purdue University. She was a member of the Nineteenth Century Club of Oak Park, Il, a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood, and Chi Omega sorority. She was a longtime hospital volunteer and hospice volunteer. She was a member of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Sun City Center, FL Marian was the mother of four children: Robert W. Sharer (Gloria) of Lansing, IL; William C. Sharer (Louise) of Williamsburg, VA and Minneapolis, MN; Sarah S. Curley of Scottsdale, AZ; and Deborah S. Hildenbrandt (Robert) of Ocala, FL. She was the step mother of G. Alan Fitzgerald (Diane) of CA; Barbara Thompson, of R.I.; and Douglas Fitzgerald of FL. She had six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A private memorial will be held at a later date with burial in Mt. Morris, IL.
